Alexandra Farms Attends FlowersExpo in Moscow, New Japanese Garden Rose Variety Awarded Gold Medal

Updated: Oct 22, 2019

Alexandra Farms was awarded a medal for one of our newest varieties in Russia at FlowersExpo’2019, which was held Sept. 10-12 in Moscow.

Princess Meiko (Prosperous), a vivacious flower bred in Japan and grown at our farm in Colombia, was awarded the Gold Medal for Novelty of the Year. Awards at the show are divided into two categories: Best Quality and Novelty of the Year.

More than 400 companies exhibit at the show each year, including growers from Colombia, Ecuador and Russia. Attendees are importers, wholesalers and retailers of many countries of the former Soviet Union. Hundreds of floral designers also attend, looking for the latest trends in roses and other flowers.

Presentations, conferences, workshops, master classes, consultations, Russian Championship on Floristics and floral shows of eminent Russian and foreign designers are also held during the event.

The Photo Spot at the Alexandra Farms booth was designed and built by students and staff from the Moscow Flower School.
