Introducing Ottilie and Ariadne

Ottilie and Ariadne

Two Roses Worth Waiting For

At David Austin, no rose is introduced lightly. Each new variety represents years – often more than a decade – of careful breeding, observation and rigorous trialing. We look not only for beauty in the bloom, but for poise in performance: vase life, reliability, fragrance and that unmistakable presence that sets a truly exceptional rose apart.

This season, we are proud to unveil two roses that embody modern romance in different, yet harmonious ways. Meet Ottilie and Ariadne – each bringing her own style, movement and magic to wedding design.

Ottilie – Opulent, Playful, Unforgettable

Ottilie arrives with confidence.

Her soft cotton-candy pink petals gather in a neat cup before unfurling into a plush, layered rosette – abundant in texture, yet beautifully balanced. There is substance beneath her prettiness. Frilled, crepe-paper petals create depth and dimension, giving florists both volume and softness within a single bloom.

Despite her airy appearance, Ottilie holds herself with quiet assurance. She blends effortlessly into classic ivory palettes, adds warmth to romantic pastels, and lends a joyful lift to more contemporary schemes. Her medium myrrh fragrance, warmed by notes of ripe apricot and raspberry, offers another gentle layer of luxury.

With an impressive vase life of up to 10 days, Ottilie has been bred not only to enchant, but to endure.

For brides seeking playful elegance and modern femininity, she brings a confident flourish – a rose that feels couture yet completely wearable within a wedding story.

Ariadne – Radiant, Balanced, Effortlessly Refined

Where Ottilie is layered and expressive, Ariadne is calm and luminous.

Her salmon pink petals, brushed with apricot and dusky rose, open wide into a beautifully even, flat rosette. Less frilled but no less captivating, she carries a quiet grace – her wavy petals adding soft movement across an otherwise harmonious silhouette.

Ariadne is wonderfully versatile in design. Her steady, open form and flattering profile make her easy to use throughout bouquets, centerpieces and larger installations. She blends seamlessly with soft neutrals, romantic pastels or deeper, more tonal palettes, bringing warmth without overpowering.

Her light black tea fragrance, touched with green banana and violet, offers a delicate finishing note. With an 8-day vase life and exceptional composure, she is a rose designed with both creativity and practicality in mind.

For brides drawn to refined beauty and understated confidence, Ariadne offers a timeless bloom that feels thoughtful, generous and enduring.

Designed for Today's Wedding Florist

They are not simply new colors within a palette. They are new personalities within the collection.

After more than ten years of careful breeding and trialing, we are delighted to finally share them with you. We cannot wait to see how they are interpreted, styled and woven into wedding stories around the world.
