Dramatic dress, simple bouquet
Put simply, if you have a dramatic, heavily embellished dress – a similarly flamboyant bouquet will fight for attention and totally dominate the woman carrying it. In this case, allow the statement dress to take the leading role by creating a beautifully understated bouquet that complements rather than distracts.
Here, our bride wears the spectacular Kelly gown from the Fall 2024 collection of New York designer Sareh Nouri. The bodice of the show-stopping dress features long-sleeves and a square neckline, while the skirt is a high-low design with a dramatic tulle underskirt and chapel train. It is covered in tonal pink lace floral appliqué, which adds to the romantic drama of the gown.
For the bride’s bouquet, anything more than a simple posy of pink roses would have been too much. Rather, our new dreamy pink rose, Millicent, looks like it was created for this specific moment. The frothy pink petals, warm vivid pink hue and delicate scent of citrus and old rose add a feeling of luxurious elegance and play a perfect supporting role to the extravagantly detailed dress.
Simple dress, dramatic bouquet
If you have chosen an understated gown with minimal adornment, you have more flexibility in your choice of flowers. You can keep with the minimalist theme with a simple, single-flower bouquet for a chic contemporary look, or create contrast with a more eclectic design. It all comes down to personal taste and the overall wedding aesthetic you have in mind.
Here our bride showcases a completely different look in the elegant Until Next Time gown from Sareh Nouri. The strapless slim flare gown in ivory Chinese silk feels classic and understated, while the pink oversized bow cape wrap adds a theatrical flourish.
Floral designer Tula Rosa Flowers created the perfect bouquet to complement this look. Featuring fluffy blush and ivory roses (Constance, Charity, and Keira with a pop of bold pink Hettie and gold Beatrice, alongside tendrils of green and striking fuchsia Gloriosa lilies. The asymmetrical design together with the use of form and negative space is a wonderful balance to the plain ivory silk gown.
