Care & Handling
It is important to keep tweedia separate from other flowers at all times during processing, as the stems exude a milky sap when cut that will clog the stems of other flowers. To start processing, trim the stems at least 1" and remove any foliage that may remain below the water line. Place the stems in a separate bucket of water and hydrating solution, overnight in a cooler (33°F), to remove the sap. Before arranging, trim the stems again and let them hydrate in a separate bucket for one hour to drain any remaining sap. You may then combine tweedia with other flowers.
