Jose “Joey” Azout

Jose “Joey” Azout

President

Joey is the founder of Alexandra Farms. He has been in the industry for more than 35 years and worked at Maxima Farms, Gerald Stevens, Dole Fresh Flowers, and Delaware Valley Wholesale Florist before discovering garden roses. He is married to Clarita, and they have a daughter, Alexandra, and twin sons, Lucas and Noah. Joey loves the roses we grow and the people that flowers connect him with across the industry.

Roberto Uribe

Roberto Uribe

General Manager

Roberto is the general manager of Alexandra Farms and has been with the company since shortly after its founding. He has been in the flower industry for more than 36 years, first at Maxima Farms and later at The Elite Flower.

Maria Venegas

Sales Manager

María has been part of the floral industry for over 25 years and loves what she does. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and French, and even speaks a little Italian. Known for her friendly personality, positive energy, and genuine care for others, María enjoys building strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike. She approaches every order with passion, dedication, and a personal touch, always going above and beyond to ensure each customer is delighted with our flowers. Her meticulous attention to detail, unwavering commitment to quality, and heartfelt desire to exceed expectations have earned the trust and appreciation of those she serves, creating memorable experiences and lasting relationships. Outside of work, María enjoys dancing, traveling, spending time with friends and family, and exploring new places and cultures. Above all, her greatest source of pride and joy is her daughter, Alejandra, who inspires her every day.

María Paula Córdoba

Sales Manager

María Paula has dedicated more than 25 years to the floral industry, driven by her love for flowers and the meaningful connections they create. Her career began at Flores de Funza, and her passion grew even stronger after joining Alexandra Farms, where she was inspired by the beauty of garden roses and a culture of quality, innovation and sustainability. Known for her warm and genuine approach, María Paula builds lasting relationships with customers across Europe (excluding Spain), the USA, the United Kingdom, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. She is passionate about sharing the magic of garden roses and helping clients succeed. María Paula lives in Bogotá with her husband and two children, Jerónimo and Silvana. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, exploring new cultures, and spending time with her family.

Sandy Sáenz

Sandy Sáenz

Sales Manager

Sandy has more than 20 years of experience in the flower industry. She was born in Santa Monica, CA, USA, and lived in the Los Angeles area before moving to Bogotá, where she studied graphic design. In 2000, she was presented with the opportunity to work in the flower industry and has loved it ever since. Before joining Alexandra Farms in January 2015, she worked with several flower export companies in both Bogotá and Miami. Today at Alexandra Farms, she manages e-commerce and mass market accounts in the USA. Sandy works every day with what she believes is the most beautiful flower in the world: garden roses. She loves sharing her knowledge with customers to help them find the best fit for their needs. She’s known for being approachable, straightforward, and always available. She lives in Bogotá with her husband and two daughters. Indoor cycling is a big part of her routine and helps her stay balanced. She also enjoys spending time with her family and getting together with friends for cards on weekends.

Antonina Gavrishina

Antonina Gavrishina

Sales Manager

Antonina has over 18 years of experience in the floriculture sector, working closely with markets in Russia, the USA, and Europe. Before joining the team in 2018, she gained key experience at Plazoleta in Colombia and Mosflor in Ecuador. Her fluency in Russian has been a natural bridge with Russian-speaking and Eastern European markets. Outside of work, she is the proud mother of Nicolay and Alexandra.

Ana María Bustamante

Ana María Bustamante

Sales Manager

Ana María has been in the floral industry for 10 years. She speaks Spanish, English and Portuguese. Ana María started in the world of flowers at Funza Farms, building her career with a deep love for garden roses and what they inspire. Ana María enjoys connecting with customers and helping them discover the beauty of Alexandra Farms’ flowers. She looks after our customers across Spain, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Panama, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States. Originally from Colombia and now based in Barcelona, she lives with her husband and her two kids, Elena and Federico.

Elizabeth Pérez

Elizabeth Pérez

Exports Director

Elizabeth is an economist specializing in International Trade and Logistics. She began working in the floriculture sector in 1987 and joined Alexandra Farms in February 2007. There, she developed garden roses, a unique and innovative product in Colombia, and began building a company that is now a large family, where everyone works with the same purpose under the direction of our founder, whom she met in 1990. Known for his passion for flowers, Elizabeth serves as the director of the export department, coordinating with production for each variety required. The priority is customer service, ensuring that every bride and every event that chooses this exclusive product, special for its shapes, fragrances, and unique beauty, experiences many wonderful emotions. Elizabeth lives in Bogotá with her husband, Carlos Francisco, an agricultural engineer and her daughter, Laura Andrea, a doctor. Her greatest satisfaction is fulfilling each order every day and knowing that around the world, someone will be very happy with each stem they receive.

Communications & Marketing Manager

Teresa leads communications and marketing at Alexandra Farms, where she shapes the brand, nurtures relationships throughout the floral community, and guides how the company shares its story. She joined the team in 2018, bringing 15 years of experience in journalism and creative communications, along with a genuine passion for clear, strategic work. She enjoys collaborating across departments, listening and asking questions to understand what is really needed, then building a plan to make it happen. Her love of flowers began during summers spent in the garden with her great-grandmother, where she developed a fascination with the endless ways that nature expresses beauty. Originally from Minnesota, USA, and now based in the Netherlands, Teresa is happiest hiking, exploring the world with her husband and son, and spending time with a close-knit circle of family and friends.

Cristina is a graphic designer with a master’s degree in Customer Experience and Innovation. Her experience has focused on marketing, branding, and strategic communication, combining a creative perspective with strategic thinking to build memorable and cohesive brands. At Alexandra Farms, she brings her knowledge in brand management, content, and user experience to strengthen the company’s presence and communicate the beauty, quality, and essence of Alexandra Farms across all channels.

Carlos Sarmiento

Carlos Sarmiento

Human Resources Director

Carlos has dedicated much of his professional life to the Colombian floriculture sector. His career began in 1986 at Agrícola Los Árboles, later Maxima Farms, where he rose to Human Resources Director. Over more than 40 years, he has worked across human resources, labor relations, safety, and employee well-being, always convinced that people are the driving force of any organization. He joined Alexandra Farms as Human Resources Director in 2017, focused on employee development and a strong organizational culture, and since 2024 has served as Legal Representative for Labor Affairs, Safety Director, and Manager of the Alexandra Farms Employee Fund (FONAF). Leading FONAF brings him particular satisfaction: it promotes a savings culture among workers and offers credit on favorable terms, supporting the economic well-being of members and their families. Committed, responsible, and service-oriented, he enjoys working with people and creating spaces that foster both organizational growth and the development of those who are part of them. Throughout his career, he has learned that leadership is built on example, respect, and approachability, the principles that continue to guide him.

Emilsen Cubillos

Head of Human Resources

Emilsen began her career in the floriculture sector at 18. Her professional history can be summarized as being with two major companies: the first, which was her training ground and where she grew for 11 years and 5 months, and Alexandra Farms, where she’s been since 2009 and where she has worked to emphasize the immense human value promoted by its partners and management. She leads a wonderful team that contributes daily with their excellent work. Emilsen enjoys mentoring, helping and learning from people every day, and she holds herself to very high standards in her work. Outside the office, her absolute motivation is her family: her husband of 29 years and her two sons: the eldest, a graphic designer by profession and a passionate musician who dedicates his time to his band, F15, and the youngest, a future accountant currently entering his eighth semester. She firmly believes that family is everything and that if the family is well, everything else falls into place.

Catherine is Alexandra Farms’ Director of Treasury and International Exchange, overseeing the company’s treasury and the foreign-exchange side of selling flowers around the world.

Accounts Receivables

With over three decades of experience in the floral industry, Yolanda has built an exceptional career, working for renowned flower companies such as La Gaitana Farms, Discovery Farms and Andean Fields and consistently standing out for her unparalleled service and warm customer care. Since joining our team in 2014, Yolanda has played a fundamental role in our operations by excelling in the direct management of accounts receivable, the detailed evaluation of credit limits, and providing strategic support to the finance department. What she enjoys most about her daily life on the farm is the privilege of working surrounded by our exceptional flowers, cultivated to perfection for every occasion. And although her passion for her work is evident, Yolanda’s heart belongs to her family: she shares her life and greatest joys with her husband, Héctor, and her son, Sebastián.

With over a decade of experience in the floriculture industry, Andrea joined the Alexandra Farms family in 2024 to contribute her talent and vision to the Administrative Management team. Her passion for her work is the true driving force behind her daily life: she finds her greatest inspiration in a deep connection with nature, enthusiastically embraces everyday challenges, and enjoys the magic of working surrounded by exceptional flowers. For Andrea, our flowers stand out not only for their unparalleled beauty but also for the genuine attention to detail that goes into them. Beyond her strong professional commitment, the fundamental pillar that sustains, guides, and gives meaning to her life is her family.

Jeison Mauricio Galindo

IT Director

Jeison has more than 12 years of experience in the technology sector. Before joining our team in 2016, he gained extensive experience at companies such as PAF and the newspaper EL TIEMPO. At Alexandra Farms, he is responsible for optimizing infrastructure and leading data analysis. Jeison lives in Puente de Piedra, Madrid, where he divides his free time between technology and his great personal passion: coffee farming and delving deeper into the culture of specialty coffee.

Legal Director

Adriana joined Alexandra Farms in 2020. She holds an uncommon role within a flower company that has given her a privileged window into a fascinating industry, one she has come to know with great admiration. Day-to-day, she oversees the company’s legal, contractual, and corporate affairs, providing practical guidance to support the business strategy and operations. She finds inspiration in knowing that her work is part of a greater purpose: bringing beauty to the world through flowers. Outside the office, she enjoys good food and the warmth of gathering around the table with the people she loves.

Pilar Buitrago

New Product Development Manager

Pilar is the head of the New Product Development department. Her work involved evaluating new species and examining the behaviors, colors and shapes of the flowers to assess their potential in the global market. Pilar studied biology and has embarked on various adventures within her career, starting off with a deep dive into indigenous communities in Colombia’s Amazon region. Her insurmountable curiosity and natural appeal for beauty drew her to Alexandra Farms in 2011, and she has become an indispensable member of our team. Pilar puts love, enthusiasm and drive into every new garden rose, blending her passion for science with the highest quality standards and a unique nurturing touch. Outside of work, Pilar is a loving mother to Nicolás and Juana, who are just as curious as their mother and admirers of nature.

Venilde López

New Varieties Crop Supervisor

Venilde has been working at Alexandra Farms since 2013. She’s the crop supervisor for new products, studying their market viability, vase life and opening, and understanding the beauty and uniqueness of everything we grow. Venilde puts all her joy, dedication and loving wonder in every part of her job to ensure our products are high quality, and it shows in the results. She enjoys her time off with her loved ones, playing board games and watching movies. She’s a loving mother to three beautiful boys, Johan Stiven, Sebastián Andrés and Juan Diego.

Natalia Uribe Noguera

Special Projects

Natalia is part of the Internal Communications and New Product Development teams, assisting with project coordination, workplace well-being, and event planning. She studied Audiovisual Communication and Multimedia at La Universidad de La Sabana in Bogotá. Natalia is fluent in both Spanish and English and enjoys learning about different cultures and languages.

Oscar Munevar

Oscar Munevar

Technical Manager

Oscar has more than 21 years of experience in the flower industry. He is an agricultural engineer with a Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, specializing in soils and water. Before joining Alexandra Farms in 2018, he worked for Aurora Flowers, then for over 10 years with GHT, and later in the banana export industry. He has also worked as an occasional university lecturer, researcher, and consultant for high-demand crops. At Alexandra Farms, he is known for his passion and dedication to the health and nutrition of garden roses, as well as for leading production teams on the farms. He lives in Chía with his wife and two children and enjoys playing electric guitar and mountain biking in his free time.

Mauricio has been growing roses for more than 30 years. Over that time, he has developed an incredible insight into these marvelous plants. Mauricio previously worked at Flora Intercontinental and Aguas Blancas, two traditional rose houses in Bogotá.

Marco Téllez

Farm Director, El Jardín 2

Marco has worked in the floriculture sector for 30 years, including 14 years at Alexandra Farms. His commitment and goal are to produce the most beautiful flowers in the world with quality and productivity, so that each of our clients is satisfied with our flowers. It is a source of pride for him to be here. Marco treats our workers with respect and is committed to their well-being and that of their families. Outside of work, he enjoys cycling on weekends and spending time with his children.

Jersson Camacho

Jersson Camacho

Farm Director, San Ignacio

Jersson is an agronomist by profession and has more than 12 years of experience in the floriculture and fruit-growing sector. Before joining Alexandra Farms in 2018, he worked in fruit orchards in Quillota, Chile, and in rose cultivation in the Bogotá savanna. He currently serves as director of the San Ignacio farm, where he puts his extensive knowledge of crop management, fertilization and pest and disease control to the service of the operation, for both garden roses and diversified crops.

Luis Carlos Rivera

Postharvest Director, El Jardín

Luis Carlos joined Alexandra Farms in 2013 and has 15 years of experience in the floriculture sector. He is currently training as an industrial engineer. As Post-Harvest Director, he leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for ensuring the quality, freshness, and traceability of our garden roses from cultivation to export. His management style is based on collaborative work, clear communication, and results-oriented process optimization, driving his team toward high standards of excellence and shared responsibility. Luis Carlos’s work combines technical rigor with a deep passion for the product, grounded in the premise that leadership is not just about directing processes but about motivating the people who make it possible to deliver impeccable flowers to the world.

Postharvest Director, San Ignacio

Ines is the Postharvest Director at Alexandra Farms’ San Ignacio farm, leading the handling and packing of the garden roses after harvest so they travel well and arrive in perfect condition.
