Introducing a New Rose Called Leonora

Updated: Aug 24, 2022

Alexandra Farms and David Austin Roses are delighted to introduce a new ivory wedding rose called Leonora (Auswagsy) in honor of Lady Gabriella’s marriage to Thomas Kingston at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, London on Saturday, May 18, 2019. Lady Gabriella was delighted to include this new David Austin rose, grown at Alexandra Farms, within her bridal bouquet and other wedding arrangements, which were created by eminent British floral designer, Paul Thomas.

The ‘Leonora’ rose joins other beautiful varieties within David Austin’s cut rose collection, which have featured in previous royal weddings and become some of the most sought-after bridal roses in the world. Alexandra Farms currently grows 16 of David Austin’s most romantic fresh cut varieties at our farm.

The epitome of understated style, Leonora’s creamy, ivory petals unfurl into a beautiful ruffled bloom with a central cluster of golden stamens. Her pure simplicity and fresh scent with notes of citrus and cucumber make her the perfect choice for a wedding.

“Lady Gabriella’s bouquet is the first bridal bouquet to feature the new Leonora rose, which is a tremendous honor for us all," said David J C Austin, Managing Director of David Austin Roses. "We hope this will be the first of many weddings where Leonora’s beauty will be admired and loved. My father would be extremely proud to see his life’s work bringing great joy to such a special and momentous occasion.”
